"Spring of fort relic" of Musashi-Kyuryou National Goverment Park, Hiki District, Saitama Pref.

Upon a hill near the south entrance gate of Musashi-Kyuryou National Goverment Park,

there is a small fort relic of the medieval era called "Yamada fort relic" , the ruins of

its earth mound and dry moat are well preserved. The fort is located on the route of

Ancient Kamakura Road which goes through this Park from its south entrance gate towards

west entrance gate and it is likely that the relic used to be important fort to command

the main route of medieval era.

Now it is surrounded in a red pine grove on the hill commanding a good view of Yamada village.
