Musashino is the name to address the field of nature, the habitats of deciduous oak woods with traditional farmers' cultural lives located north west of Tokyo. It was a hundred years ago that a Japanese man of literary "Doppo" said “ The beauty of Musashino is still unchanged yet compared with that of ancient time”. However, even though we should repeat his question “ What about present Musashino? How such Musashino is well enough as ever now? " ,--- it can not be the same as it used to be when he was fascinated by its beauty. The urban sprawl of the center of Tokyo has been swallowing Musashino with it having retreated far behind in remote distance. They are left behind mostly in the state of the worm-eaten spots. Can the original scenery of Musashino be found out as ever there? Probably, there are those who think the nature of Musashino as drawn by "Doppo" is still sighing there, or those who are not conscious of that even inhabiting Musashino. Now, Musashino is one reality for some people or a virtual one for some others and people begin to look for Musashino after having met with its scenery of oaks.
